Rosedale-Moore Park

Rosedale-Moore Park is one of the wealthiest communities in Toronto, with a median family income 116% higher than Toronto Average. Even though the community is near downtown Toronto, the ravishing ravines surrounding the neighborhood and little vehicular traffic make it a quiet and peaceful living space. For the past several years, Toronto Life consistently ranks Rosedale-Moore Park as the top 10 neighborhood to live in Toronto.

Community Overview

The boundary of the community runs from Yonge Street on the west to Mount Pleasant Cemetery on the north, Mud Creek and Don River on the east, and Bloor Street on the south. Divided by the railway track, the community's north is called Moore Park, and the south is Rosedale.

Rosedale-Moore Park is a highly desirable community for families in Toronto, but the residential real estate is indeed pricey. The typical detached homes are two, two-and-a-half, and three-story with frontage between 25 and 50 feet, but most have shared rather than private driveways. The age of housing tends to be old, with fewer rebuilt due to many homes being designated Heritage. Most homes in the south community at Rosedale were constructed between 1850 and 1940 with architectural styles including Victorian, Georgian, Tudor, and Edwardian. On the other hand, Houses in Moore Park were mainly developed between 1908 and 1930, including English Cottage, Georgian, and Tudor styles. There are also semi-detached and townhomes available throughout the Rosedale-Moore Park community. On both the west border close to Yonge Street and the south border close to Bloor Street, home seekers can also find condo buildings and rental apartments, which provide entry-level opportunities to live in the community. Given the community's immediate access to downtown Toronto, about 45% of the residents are tenants living in the area.
